Kelcie Kleckner serves as an assistant to the Aids Clinical Trials Unit (ACTU) clinical research nurse team providing clinical and administrative support. As an assistant, she documents participant information, schedules appointments and tests, assists patients with various types of study related questionnaires, procedures, paperwork and performs venipuncture. She joined the ACTU team in 2007.

Aimee Samuels

Aimee Samuels is a Clinical Research Assistant at the AIDS Clinical Trials Unit (ACTU). Samuels started working at the ACTU in 2007. As an assistant, she documents participant information, schedules appointments and tests, assists patients with various types of study related questionnaires, procedures, paperwork and performs venipuncture. Samuels enjoys her position at the ACTU because it allows her to be more involved in patient care and provides opportunities to help HIV patients.

Sara Powell


Sara Powell is the Clinical Trials Recruitment & Screening Coordinator at the AIDS Clinical Trials Unit (ACTU). Joining the staff in September of 2009, her role is to educate patients about the potential benefits of enrolling in clinical trials; to perform initial and follow-up screening of patients for entry into trials, in order to facilitate recruitment; and to support the clinical research staff. Powell earned her bachelor's degree from Ohio University in 1996 and her master's degree from Clemson University in 2004.
