Tammy Mansfield, RN, BSN (Clinical Trials Manager)
Tammy Mansfield, RN (formerly Tammy Powell) is the Clinical Trials Manager of the ACTU. She is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the research personnel and the unit. Tammy has been involved in this project since 1987 when she first began to work with Dr. Peter T. Frame as a staff nurse. She is here because she is committed to the clinical research process and that people with HIV deserve to be treated with dignity, fairness and compassion. She became the manager of the ACTU January 2000. In 1993 she founded a small hospice team for patients with end-stage AIDS and named it the Red Ribbon Team. Thankfully, the death rate from AIDS declined significantly in 1997 and there was no longer a need for a specialized AIDS hospice team in Cincinnati.
